The Africa Energy Forum, which took place on 10 to 14 June in Lisbon, Portugal, provided the perfect launchpad for Gridworks.
Simon Hodson, Gridworks CEO, spoke on a panel addressing to what extent private sector financing is required to transform Africa’s electricity networks. Hodson stated:
“It is fantastic to see the overwhelming conversations Gridworks has generated in its early conception here at the AEF. It is widely recognised that significant investment needs to be channelled through a dedicated platform such as Gridworks in order to overcome the bottleneck which has prevailed to date for power availability, and indeed economic development, across Africa.”
