Gridworks appeared at this year’s African Utility Week conference, which took place from 14 to 16 May in Cape Town, South Africa. The event saw a wide range of industry leaders meet to discuss and share their expertise and insight on working in utilities industries across Africa.
Simon Hodson, Gridworks CEO, attended the conference and spoke about how private sector capital can help drive improvements in electricity networks on the African continent:
“Creating sustainable and investable opportunities in transmission and distribution requires a coordinated effort. This week I’ve been able to speak to key stakeholders who share the Gridworks vision and I look forward to developing these relationships and offering the support of Gridworks going forward.”
Chris Flavin, Director at Gridworks, also took part in a panel discussion at the conference. Flavin shared the panel with representatives from Umeme, PowerGen Renewable Energy, and the Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency, where they discussed titled how utilities and off-grid projects can work together.
